Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are issued for purchases on Probedex (probedex.ai). It forms part of, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service. To request a refund, follow the steps in our Refund Application guide.
Nothing in this Policy limits any statutory consumer-protection right you may have under the law of your country of residence (see Section 7).
1. Digital Content — Immediate Delivery
Probedex is a data intelligence platform. When you subscribe, you gain immediate access to premium data dashboards, analytics charts, traffic trends, keyword data, revenue indices, and other competitive intelligence. This data is delivered to you the moment you access it — it cannot be "returned" or "unviewed." For this reason, all purchases are treated as fully delivered upon activation unless otherwise stated below.
We provide a generous free tier that lets you preview a meaningful subset of the platform's data and features before committing to a paid plan. We also offer a Sample Teardown so you can evaluate report quality before purchasing. We strongly encourage you to use these free resources to evaluate the Service before subscribing.

3. Annual Subscription — 7-Day First-Purchase Refund
A refund is available only for the first annual subscription ever activated on your Account, requested within 7 calendar days of the initial charge. This is a one-time courtesy; re-subscribing after a previous cancellation does not reset the 7-day window.
Formula
Refund = (annual price paid − one month at the current monthly rate) × 95%
The monthly rate deduction reflects the fair value of the service you received during the first month. The 5% deduction covers payment-platform charges and operational processing costs.
Examples
Pro annual ($564), refund requested within 7 days: Refund = ($564 − $59) × 0.95 = $505 × 0.95 = $479.75
Business annual ($1,428), refund requested within 7 days: Refund = ($1,428 − $149) × 0.95 = $1,279 × 0.95 = $1,215.05
Upon refund, your subscription is immediately cancelled, and access to paid features ends. Any monthly Allowance already granted is forfeited (it has no cash value).
Why no refund for monthly subscriptions?
Monthly subscriptions carry no long-term commitment. You can cancel at any time before the next billing cycle — cancellation prevents the next charge, and paid features remain available until the end of the period you already paid for. Because the commitment is only 30 days and data access is immediate, monthly fees are non-refundable.
4. Failed-Report Auto-Credit
If a Growth Teardown fails to complete because of a system error, a third-party API outage, or a model error on our side, we automatically refund 1 report credit — you do not need to apply. Our system attempts to return the credit to your original grant if it is still active and unexpired. If that original grant has already expired, we issue a 30-day grace credit valid for 30 days from issue.
We do not issue cash refunds for failed Reports — the credit makes you whole at no out-of-pocket cost, and the 5% processing fee does not apply to credit refunds. If you experience repeated failures, email [email protected] so we can investigate.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation stops the next renewal but does not trigger a refund of the current period. After cancellation, paid features remain available until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
If you are on an annual plan and have not yet passed the 7-day first-purchase window described in Section 3, you may request a refund at that time. Otherwise, cancellation simply prevents the next annual renewal.
6. Fraud, Abuse, and Chargebacks
6.1 Please contact us before any chargeback
We strongly urge you to email us first rather than file a chargeback. Chargebacks are arbitrated by your card issuer and typically take 30–60 days to resolve, with your Account locked for the duration. Emailing [email protected] under our Refund Application process is usually resolved within 5 business days and preserves both your Account standing and your eligibility for future member pricing. We process every request that fits this Policy — please give us the chance first.
6.2 Breach of Terms § 5 — refund refused
We refuse refunds outright — regardless of any eligibility above — for any conduct that breaches Terms § 5, including but not limited to:
- programmatic scraping, crawling, mirroring, or harvesting of Service pages, API responses, or Report output;
- republishing, re-syndicating, or reselling our Reports, Insights, or aggregated data;
- automated access via bots, scripts, or headless browsers without prior written permission;
- account impersonation, multi-account abuse, or circumvention of rate limits.
We also reserve the right to terminate the Account, forfeit all unused balances, and recover any losses caused by such conduct. Nothing in this section limits non-waivable statutory consumer rights.
6.3 Other fraud and abuse
We reserve the right to decline a refund where we reasonably detect:
- chargeback abuse (repeated reversals after consumption);
- multiple Accounts created to re-trigger first-subscription refunds;
- refund-then-rejoin loops;
- conduct showing that obtaining a refund — rather than dissatisfaction with the Service — was the purpose of the purchase.
Chargebacks initiated without first contacting [email protected] may result in immediate Account termination and forfeiture of all unused balances. We will respond to any chargeback dispute with the transaction record, this Policy, and the relevant clauses of the Terms.
7. Statutory Consumer Rights
This Policy does not limit any non-waivable consumer-protection right you have under the law of your country of residence.
- EEA / UK consumers — the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you a 14-day "cooling-off" period for distance contracts for digital services. Because you begin accessing data immediately upon subscription activation, you expressly consent under Art. 16(m) of the Directive to the supply of the digital content during the cooling-off period and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the digital content has been accessed. We treat each data dashboard view and each consumed Growth Teardown as units of performance. If you exercise the cooling-off right within 14 days and before accessing any paid content, the refund excludes the 5% processing fee. If you have already accessed paid data, the refund is reduced by the fair value of the content accessed.
- California (CCPA / CPRA) — the rights described in our Privacy Policy (know, delete, correct, opt out) are unaffected by this Refund Policy.
- Australia (ACL) — the Australian Consumer Law guarantees of acceptable quality and fitness for purpose are unaffected by this Policy.
- Other regions — if your local consumer-protection law gives you a stronger refund right than this Policy, that right prevails.
8. Exceptions — Technical and Billing Errors
Outside the matrix above, we may issue a discretionary refund for:
- Duplicate charges — if you were charged twice for the same subscription or purchase due to a billing error, we will refund the duplicate charge in full (no processing fee).
- Service unavailability — if the platform was materially unavailable for an extended period (48+ consecutive hours) due to an outage on our side, contact us and we will evaluate a partial credit or refund on a case-by-case basis.
These exceptions are at our sole discretion and are evaluated case by case.
9. How to Apply
Detailed instructions, the email template, and the service-level agreement are in our Refund Application page. For automatic failed-Report credit refunds, you do not need to apply — the credit is issued by our system. For all other cases, email [email protected] following the template.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email and via an in-product banner at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
